Five Not So Easy Pieces: Designing and Constructing the Passive House Enclosure

This presentation outlines design and testing of five necessary components on a team-designed passive house enclosure: the water shedding surface, water-resistive barrier, air barrier, thermal barrier, and vapor barrier. It recommends tracing the barriers through the various building enclosure drawing to ensure their continuity. It also notes that early team integration pays offer and how proactive coordination and quality control is essential.
