Surveys on Hospital Design

Jul 01, 2003

This study asked patients and staff about their emotional response to the built environment. The researchers chose ambulatory care departments for the pilot study: Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville, University Health Network’s Toronto Western Hospital, and Peterborough Regional Health Centre. The study focused on two areas: 1) general impact of the physical environment on patients and staff, and 2) opinions about specific design elements.
