Weathering the Storm: Mental Health and Resilient Design

This article discusses relationships between resilient design strategies and their impact on the mental health of building occupants. The study evaluated specific design strategies and their impact on mitigating stress in a crisis event, as well as the cost of implementation. The results indicate that the majority of the investigated strategies would have marginal to low costs for new and existing buildings and that they would mitigate negative mental health impacts on building occupants.
