Basic Design Studio: An Ongoing Research

This paper demonstrates successive observations regarding Basic Design studio and its influence on architectural design. The research is a longitudinal study of the studio output of a sample of students of BKPS College of Architecture, Pune, India. Results indicate that the students who excelled in Basic Design displayed better understanding of space and in the higher courses, but needed specialized input with regard to building construction.
