Development of a Tool for Evaluating Proximity Requirements in the Programming and Design of a New Hospital

Jul 01, 2003

The purpose of this paper is to develop a generic assessment tool capable of evaluating the level of fit between the proximities requested in a functional program and a particular design. Once developed, this tool will be used to evaluate a specific architectural project in terms of its ability to accommodate the proximities. The tool will be assessed through the use of the pre-concept developed for the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC).
